The freshest ingredients prepared with flair

A food and wine lover’s fantasy. The food ethos is simple; use locally sourced Irish ingredients supplemented by the very best of European produce to create dishes that are at once traditional in pedigree yet contemporary in delivery. Whilst quality is at the heart of our menus, value is at the end; nowhere in Dublin will you find an old world charm, traditional skills and fine dishes, after all we are traditionally a “dining Club”.

And as you would expect, our wine list is one of the best in the city. You’ll find exquisite vintages in our cellar, and as a member, you are invited to lay your own wine down and request it whenever you wish to enjoy with your meal.

The Dining Room

With five tall sash windows overlooking The Green, La Franchini ceilings, huge marble fireplaces and antique furniture, the Clubs Dining Room has been long considered one of the most beautiful rooms in Dublin. There is no better place in the city to enjoy a meal with friends and colleagues.
The Dining Room at the SGHC was once two rooms; the larger section, the original 18th Century dining room, is designated by the stucco centre piece illustrating Bacchus in triumph as a putti in chariot. The smaller division is beautifully decorated with intricate foliage and roses and is centred by a depiction of Fortitude; it is believed to have been the Morning Room. Under this heavenly vault the theatre at the heart of Club life is played out, this room hosts our most anticipated celebrations as well as the daily venue for dining in style.

A Place to Meet Friends, Old and New

There is one table in the Dining Room where there is always room; this is kept as the Member's Table. This gives you the chance to sit and chat with fellow Members and is a great opportunity for meeting new people. You can also book a more private table in the Dining Room if you’d prefer some time to yourself or would like to entertain guests.
